Skeeder, AKA Skeet Skeet

Pretty good for a cat whose back legs don't work...

The woman noticed Skeet Skeet when he was only a few weeks old. Part of a new litter in her feral colony, he was the only kitten not running to his mother. He was dragging himself, unable to use his back legs.

She had previously seen Robyn’s videos of her mild CH cats on Facebook and thought this kitten might be a CHer, too. Not knowing what else to do and worried about his survival, she “caught” the kitten and contacted Robyn and Robert. And, several hours later, she delivered the kitten to their door.

The kitten was in bad shape and Robyn and Robert weren't sure he was going to survive the night. But there he was the next morning, ready to eat breakfast and get on with life. Which he did.

As Robyn’s and Robert's fourth cat with CH but 1st with severe CH, Skeet Skeet was an unknown but he quickly made himself at home with Robyn, Robert and their large clan. He became fast friends with Tommy Tumbles, one of the mild CHers, and with food. He loved his food and, if he was hungry, he let Robyn and Robert know, meowing at the top of his lungs and walking in circles in his special way (dragging his back legs). In his prime, he was 14 lbs.

And quite the purrsonality… in addition to being full of food, he was full of love and determination and spirit. He loved to play and to watch lizards. He loved his BFF Tommy and he loved his people.

And when he passed unexpectedly, he left a hole in their lives. That’s when Robyn and Robert decided they needed to help others like Skeet Skeet who might be suffering, or even euthanized, needlessly. They wanted to put everything they’d learned with Skeet Skeet to use and that’s what they're doing here.
