Fostering

If you are not in a position to adopt a CH animal but have the time and ability to care for one, you might be the perfect candidate for fostering. Foster families maximize the number of CH animals we can rescue by providing safe and loving environments for CHers until they can be adopted. In addition, they help care for animals that would unlikely survive in a shelter because they need special care and/or accommodations.

And, if you end up falling in love with your foster, you can adopt! In fact, fostering an animal requires the same screening process as adoption and we require everyone interested in adopting a CH animal to foster that animal first for a minimum of 7 days to ensure a good fit.

And, even if you do fall in love with your foster, in time you may discover how wonderful it is to love them and let them go. After all, letting a foster go to its forever family means you can foster again and save another CHer.
